What is near to Smoky mountains, pigeon forge or Gatlenburge?
Sam asked:
Guys
I want to visit smoky mountains. I am not sure where should I book my room. In pigeon forge or Gatlenburge? Also any suggestions, would it be difficult for one guy to visit or I need at least one more to go out there? Cabins are very costly, I am choosing cheaper hotel near by so any clues on that front also.
Thanks
Helen

If you are going in the summer I would recommend you book in Pigeon Forge instead of Gatlinburg. We went a few years ago the week of July 4th and the traffic in Gatlinburg was bumper to bumper. Actually, it was bumper to bumper from the Interstate all the way to Gatlinburg. You could research the area and decide where you plan to spend the most time and then book there. Right in downtown Gatlinburg is a Ripley’s Aquarium, a sky lift, a space needle and lots of small shops. Pigeon Forge is more spread out and has Dollywood and other tourist type places to visit. I would think you could visit alone if you wanted to.
